The Pitt Panthers defeated UCF 12-7 on Saturday afternoon at Acrisure Stadium, with the defense carrying the load as Mason Heintschel and the offense grinded out enough points to improve to 2-0.
After Heintschel's record-tying seven-touchdown opener, this was a different kind of win — a low-scoring, defensive battle that showed Pitt can win ugly when needed.
Pitt now turns its attention to Week 3 — a home game against Syracuse on Saturday, September 20, at Acrisure Stadium.
